On Repeat Week 2

It's time for week 2 of good music. This week was tough to pick some good songs because there are so many new releases. A ton of big name artists dropped new albums and singles this week like Muse, Zedd, Matt & Kim, and Taylor Swift. Other upcoming artists like DJ Drama, Chris Rene, and The Vaccines also released new stuff.

We'll start with DJ Drama who just dropped his album 'Quality Street Music'. He's not too big yet, but he's definitely got some talent. 'My Moment' is a song that's been out for awhile now, but I just heard it a few weeks ago via a friend. It's a good one, but the album has a lot more to offer. Here's a taste:

Next, we have the newest addition to Skrillex's OWSLA label, MONSTA. This group is going places. They have a different feel from some of the other artists on the label, but their first few songs are pretty good. It should be interesting to see what they do with their music now that they have Skrillex, Porter Robinson, and Zedd amongst others who can influence them. I've been listening to their song 'Holdin' On'. Skrillex and Nero have already made a remix, but I like the original:

Jake Owen who has hits like 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night', has just released a new EP called 'Summer Jam'. One of the new songs 'Summer Jam' featuring Florida Georgia Line is one of those typical happy, upbeat songs that make you want to sit back and chill. Take a listen:

One of the bands I used to listen to a lot, Three Days Grace, has just released another powerful album called 'Transit of Venus'. One of the more popular songs on the album is 'The High Road'. It has a strong chorus that gets the blood pumping. Definitely a song that's going to get listened to a lot this coming week:

Finally, I have songs by Porter Robinson and Zedd. I'm going to see them live tomorrow night, so in preparation, I thought I would give you a couple samples. 'Unison' by Porter definitely puts you in a mood to rage. The soft voice sampling is a nice complement to the bass-filled drop:

'Spectrum' by Zedd is probably his biggest song so far. It's a classic electro-house song that makes you want to jump. The popularity of the song has sparked tons of remixes. Definitely listen to the original first because most of the remixes completely change the feel of the song, but listen to the 3lau remix as well as this remix by KDrew:
