On Repeat Week 3
This is week 3 of my music picks. If you haven't seen the first two weeks, make sure you check them out. I've gotten a pretty good response from people so far, so I'm going to continue to do this weekly! If you have any suggestions or you just want to let me know I listen to good music (which I already know), feel free to comment on these posts. Also, make sure you bookmark my blog and check it frequently for new posts and music!FOR LAST WEEK'S ON REPEAT CLICK HERE: On Repeat Week 2
Anyways, let's get into it. First off, we have another song from Ellie Goulding's new album. It's called 'I Need Your Love' and it's actually by Calvin Harris, but it features Ellie's amazing voice. You can listen to the whole album on iTunes now, and I definitely recommend buying it. There are a bunch of great songs on it:
Next up, we have a song from MGK. 'All We Have' ft. Anna Yvette has a catchy chorus and MGK's flow is just sick. This song is off of his new album that also just dropped. You have to check it out. This guy is going to be big. Some of my favorites from his new album are 'What I Do', 'Edge of Destruction', and 'Invincible'. This video isn't great quality so listen to the clip on iTunes for the full effect of its awesomeness - LTFU:
'The City' by Madeon has been out for awhile now, but I'm bringing it to you now. If you like electro/house music and you don't know who Madeon is, I definitely recommend checking him out. He has a lot of great upbeat songs that make you want to dance. 'Shuriken', 'Icarus', and his remix of 'The Island' by Pendulum are some of my favorites. Here's a sample of his style:
I've had this next song stuck in my head for a few weeks. My housemate that lives in one the rooms adjacent to mine, begged me to put this one on a playlist for a football pregame. It's called 'Cruise' by Florida Georgia Line. They're a group that's building up its rep in the country category. This song has the perfect title because it definitely makes you want to go for a ride down a country road:
This song is by one of my favorite dubstep groups, Adventure Club. It's called 'Retro City'. It has a pretty heavy drop with their unique modulated basslines. I just found out that they're coming to Ann Arbor within the month which got me in the mood to play some of their music. They have done a lot of great remixes, but they also have some excellent originals like 'Do I See Color'. Check them out:
Finally, it's the newest by Taylor Swift. Already number one on iTunes. Get rid of the artist name on iTunes and you honestly would not be able to convince me that it is her (or the genre of country, for that matter). When I listened to it for the first time I thought 'okay, this has her new pop sound - wait what's this - a build up?...*unexpected bass drop* WTF?' In the words of my other housemate - "This is going to be the new girls' anthem". I'd have to agree:
I hope you enjoyed this week's music. Please comment and let me know what you think!!! I'm always interested to see what music you listen to as well, so leave me a comment or link to some of your favorites! Come back next week for more, thanks!
